World Science Day for Peace and Development at TSMU

On November 10, 2023 within the framework of World Science Day for Peace and Development, Professor Ramaz Shengelia conducted a public lecture on the development of medical knowledge in Georgia. The event was opened by Professor Sophia Bakhtadze, Vice Rector of TSMU. Professor Sophia Bakhtadze highlighted the important role of informing society about the history of medicine. Professor Ramaz Shengelia discussed the levels of development of the history of medical sciences worldwide. The professor focused on the origin of Georgian medical traditions beginning from the Era of Medea, Colchis - Iberian Medicine and the history of development of medical and biological thinking in Georgia.

Celebrated every 10 November, World Science Day for Peace and Development highlights the important role of science in society and the need to engage the wider public in debates on emerging scientific issues.
