From July 11 to September 9, 2022 TSMU Faculty of Medicine 8th semester student, Alexander Khatiashvili was at the University of Medicine, Pharmacy, Science, and Technology of Targu Mures. Alexander Khatiashvili underwent an internship at the Department of Ophthalmology. He attended surgeries and consultations and obtained theoretical and practical knowledge. 

“Attending consultations was informative for me. The doctors discussed the course of disease and treatment methods. Teamwork is essential in the medical field. I had an opportunity to ask questions to the doctors and receive answers. The most important skill I obtained during the internship was a communication skill with patients. I used to watch a patient from the moment he/she entered the clinic, participate in the diagnostic process and see the results of the treatment” – said the TSMU student. 

Alexander Khatiashvili highlighted the impressive role of the exchange program in his professional development. He is grateful for the opportunity offered by the Tbilisi State Medical University and Erasmus+ office.
