TSMU was visited by Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra (Slovakia) Professor


On February 17, 2022 Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra Professor Alexander Sirotkin visited Tbilisi State Medical University within the framework of ERASMUS + international credit mobility. The professor visited TSMU Departments of Nutrition, Aging Medicine, Environmental and Occupational Health and Public Health, Health Care Management, Policy and Economics. Professor Shalva Zarnadze, Head of the Nutrition, Aging Medicine, Environmental and Occupational Health Department, Professor Levan Baramidze, Head of the Public Health, Health Care Management, Policy and Economics Department, Associate Professor Irina Zarnadze, Assoc. Prof. Devi Tabidze, Assistant Professor Lili Lomtadze, Head of the International Relations Department, Assistant Professor, Tinatin Kilasonia, Head of the Rector’s Office Irina Kapetivadze and ERASMUS+ Institutional Coordinator, Nino Kandelaki met the guest. 

Prof. Shalva Zarnadze overviewed the scientific work at the university and noted the importance of partnership in scientific research. Prof. Levan Baramidze introduced the guest structure of teaching activities and its development perspectives at the medical university. Prof. Levan Baramidze noted partnership with Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra is essential for the academic and scientific development of TSMU.

The partnership between the Professor of Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra and the Tbilisi State Medical University has been implemented within the framework of the memorandum of understanding and ERASMUS + project since December 2021.

Prof. Alexander Sirotkin discussed the cooperation dimensions and hoped to organize a joint scientific conference next year. TSMU Clinical Skills and Multidisciplinary Simulation Center was highly evaluated by the Professor. Prof. Alexander Sirotkin delivered online lectures about family planning and reproductive health for the TSMU Master’s students and visited the TSMU library. The guest dedicated four e-books of Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra to the TSMU library.

The cooperation based on the memoranda of understanding and the ERASMUS+ credit mobility will be extended the next academic year too.
