On January 28, 2022, Associate Professor of the Department of Ophthalmology of TSMU, Director General of “ Lions Eye Diabet Clinic – Georgia” Nino Karanadze hosted an online international conference on the topic: ,,The Role of Innovation, Digital Technology in the Management of Diabetes and Diabetic Retinopathy";

The conference was attended by representatives of different countries. TSMU students,doctors of various profiles, endocrinologists shared their scientific experience on the issue of early prevention of diabetes and management of diabetic retinopathy. The conference was organized with the support of “ Lions Eye Diabet Clinic -Georgia” , “Tbilisi Lions Club”, “World Diabetes Foundation” and “Welfare Foundation”, as part of the project ,,Early Prevention of Diabetes Complications and Improving Management".

The Event organizers would like to thank TSMU students, Professor Tinatin Kilasonia, Head of the TSMU Department of International Relations, Assistant Professor of Department of Ophthalmology; Eka Ekaladze - TSMU Associate Professor, Graduate Physician, American Program Director ; Simon Gabrichidze - Public Health Specialist, Executive Director of “Wellfare Foundation” and the manager of “Promote Early Prevention and Better Management of Diabetes Complications”.
