International Partners’ visit to TSMU

On October 2-8, 2023 Tbilisi State Medical University was visited by Liane Comeau, Executive Director at International Union for Health Promotion and Education (IUHPE), Professor Philipp Walter, Fresenius University (Köln, Germany), Professor Seyran Kocharyan, Yerevan State Medical University after Mkhitar Heratsi, Assistant of Nitra University Zuzan Fabova and Barbora Lonkova PhD student  of the same university. Representatives of Nitra University visited TSMU in the frame of  Erasmus + exchange program.

The aim of the visit was to become acquainted with the educational and scientific capacity of TSMU and outline the future prospects of cooperation. The guests were hosted by Professor Sophia Bakhtadze, Vice Rector of TSMU. They visited Departments of Nutrition, Aging Medicine, Environmental and Occupational Health, Hygiene and Medical Ecology, Health Promotion, Public Health Management, Policy and Economics, Pharmaceutical and Toxicological Chemistry, Pharmacognosy and Pharmaceutical Botany, Pharmaceutical Technology, Clinical Skills and Multidisciplinary Simulation Center, Laboratory of Teaching, Scientific and Diagnostic in Pathology and Scientific-Research and Practical Skills Laboratory of the Pharmacy Faculty. 

Professor Philipp Walter conducted lectures on digital healthcare and the German healthcare system. The event was attended by the students of the Master's and Bachelor's programs of the Public Health Faculty of TSMU. Liane Comeau, Executive Director at International Union for Health Promotion and Education (IUHPE) met the students and spoke about professional development opportunities for them. Tbilisi State Medical University Master's Program "Health Promotion, Health Education" is accredited by the International Union for Health Promotion and Education (IUHPE), giving the students opportunity to participate in forums and conferences organized by IUHPE.

On October 8, a final meeting was held, where a specific work plan for the ongoing and upcoming year was developed.
