On February 28, 2023 the 1st Scientific-Practical Conference of the pediatrics residency program students “Management of Rare Pediatric Diseases, Current Challenges” was organized by the Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Continuous Professional Development of Tbilisi State Medical University.
Following reports were presented at the conference:
- Project CNSF-ST08/6-460 "Management optimization of rare pediatric and adolescent diseases - results and perspectives” – Assoc. Prof. Irine Korinteli;
- "The burden of rare diseases for public health" – Assoc. Prof. Ekaterine Mirvelashvili, Doctor in Public Health Ana Makalatia;
- “Wilms' tumor” – Resident Tamar Gigashvili
- “Lyme disease” – Resident Mariam Makashvili
- “Glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency” – Resident Lusine Mzikyani;
- Medical treatment of rare diseases - "orphan drugs" in the pharmaceutical market – Assistant Prof. Irma Korinteli.
The administration of the TSMU Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Continuous Professional Development, residents and master students participated in the conference.
