On October 19, 2023 Tbilisi State Medical University was visited by Archil Talakvadze, Deputy Chairperson of the Parliament of Georgia. Mr. Archil Talakvadze, held a public lecture "Leaders and reforms in healthcare, Hepatitis C elimination program".

The event was opened by Tornike Putkaradze, student of the Faculty of Medicine of TSMU and founder of the student organization “Future Doctors for Georgia”. Within the framework of the meeting Archil Talakvadze, Deputy Chairperson of the Parliament of Georgia talked about Hepatitis C elimination program and discussed already achieved results. 

“Georgia has become a global leader regarding the hepatitis C elimination program. The data presented today is impressive. When Georgia launched the hepatitis C elimination program, our American partners compared the challenge for the country to a David and Goliath myth. Nevertheless, Georgia managed to implement one of the most difficult projects" - said Mr. Archil Talakvadze.

The event was attended by Professor Zurab Vadachkoria Rector of TSMU, Professor Khatuna Todadze, Vice Rector of TSMU, students, researchers, residents, academic and administrative staff of TSMU.
