On October 13, 2022 within the framework of Pink October, a breath cancer awareness and screening campaign was organized for the academic and administrative staff of Tbilisi State Medical University. The aim of the campaign is to educate those concerned about the disease, including early identification, signs and symptoms associated with breast cancer. 

Breast cancer is the most-commonly diagnosed malignant tumor in women in the world, as well as the first cause of death from malignant tumors. Cases of breast cancer have been rising in Georgia recently. Taking into account international experience the best way to prevent breast cancer is screening. Within the framework of the campaign informational and educational materials were distributed to the TSMU staff. 

The campaign was supported by Tbilisi State Medical University, National Center for Disease Control and Public Health, Health Federation of Georgia, National Screening Center and Patient Organization - Oncoline Georgia.
