Training on "Organ Donation and Diagnosis of Brain Death" was organized at Tbilisi State Medical University and Ingorokva High Medical Technology University Clinic

On April 28-29 within the framework of a memorandum signed between the Ministry of Health, Labour and Social Affairs of Georgia and the Republic of Turkey, a cycle of trainings on "Organ Donation and Diagnosis of Brain Death" was organized at Tbilisi State Medical University and Ingorokva High Medical Technology University Clinic. The aim of the memoranda is the development of organ donation in Georgia. 

The cycle of training covers both theoretical and practical issues. The first stage was held on January 26-29 and core issues of intensive care were discussed. The second stage was organized on April 28-29 focusing on the theoretical and practical issues of brain diagnosis. The training was delivered by the professionals invited from the Turkish clinics. The third stage of the training is planned by the end of June and will be dedicated to the issues of transplant coordination and proper infrastructure in Georgia. The representatives from the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labor, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia and the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency were invited to the opening ceremony of the event. The coordinators of the training from the Georgian side are the Georgian Association of Transplantologists and Tbilisi State Medical University and the Turkish Organ Transplant Foundation from the Turkish side.
