Pink October at Tbilisi State Medical University

On October 20, 2022 within the framework of breath cancer awareness month - Pink October, a conference "Challenges of Modern Oncology - Screening and Treatment of Breast Cancer” was held at Tbilisi State Medical University. The event was organized by Students and Alumni Relations and Career Development Service of TSMU and the Georgian Society of Clinical Oncology. The aim of the conference was to educate those concerned about the disease, including early identification, signs and symptoms associated with breast cancer. The conference was opened by Professor Khatuna Todadze, Vice Rector of TSMU and Professor Rema Gvamichava, Head of the Department of Oncology of TSMU. 

Professor Rema Gvamichava, Maia Kereselidze Head of the Department of Medical Statistics of the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health (NCDC), Mariam Zvania a clinical oncologist at the Consilium Medulla Multiprofile Clinic, Salome Esakia a radiation therapist at the Radiation and Nuclear Medicine Center, Tina Beruchashvili and Sopo Piranishvili representatives of the organizations: Winner Women's Club and Oncoline Georgia presented reports at the conference. Speakers discussed cancer case statistics, the importance of screening, and current treatment issues. The conference was interesting and interactive for the speakers and the audience.
