A presentation by the Georgian Association of Clinical Pharmacists was organized at TSMU

On October 9, 2024, Tbilisi State Medical University hosted a presentation by the Georgian Association of Clinical Pharmacists, where the organization's activities, goals, and future projects were discussed. Professor Irakli Natriashvili, Rector of Tbilisi State Medical University addressed the audience and spoke about the significance of the work carried out by the Clinical Pharmacists' Association. 

"It is crucial to improve the quality of patient care in clinics and one of the key aspects of achieving this is the development of clinical pharmacy. The aim of our meeting today is to gain more information about the activities of the association and to support the advancement of this field," said Professor Irakli Natriashvili.

Associate Professor Tamaz Chumburidze, President of the Georgian Association of Clinical Pharmacists presented the goals of the association emphasizing the importance of society’s raising awareness about clinical pharmacy. The professor highlighted that it is crucial to establish connections between clinical pharmacists and clinics and possibilities to prepare clinical pharmacists based on the specific needs of the clinics. He also stressed that Tbilisi State Medical University is the only institution in Georgia offering a master's program in clinical pharmacy.

Master’s Program in Clinical Pharmacy at TSMU

Professor Irine Kvachadze, Head of the Department of Education Management, Assessment and Students Registration of TSMU, Professor Aliosha Bakuradze, Head of the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology of TSMU, Tea Kobakhidze, Coordinator of Pharmaceutical Product Procurement and Medical Documentation Quality Control Specialist at "Caucasus Medical Center", Eka Pruidze, Doctor of Pharmacy and Manager of the PSP Academy and Lali Dateshidze, Manager of Training Programs at "Aversi-Pharma” discussed the importance of development of clinical pharmacy in the country. The event was moderated by Lizie Tomadze, a master's student of TSMU.
