AMEE Guide No. 188 – “The Purpose and Use of Objective Structured Teaching Encounters (OSTE) in Faculty Development Programmes” is a distinguished publication recently released in Medical Teacher, the official journal of AMEE (Impact Factor: 4.4).
This is the first time that an AMEE Guide has featured Georgia’s experience, specifically that of the AMEE Regional Centre at Tbilisi State Medical University.
The Guide explores the significance and application of Objective Structured Teaching Encounters (OSTE) within academic faculty development programmes. It presents case studies from four countries:
• Tbilisi State Medical University (Georgia),
• The First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University (China),
• Gulf Medical University (United Arab Emirates),
• The University of Liverpool (United Kingdom).
