The White Coat Ceremony for first-semester students of the American MD Program was solemnly held at Tbilisi State Medical University.
This year, the annual ceremony was conducted for the fourteenth time at Tbilisi State Medical University this year. The White Coat Ceremony marks the official beginning of students’ professional journey in medicine and underscores their responsibility toward the ethical and professional values of the medical profession.
The event was attended by representatives of the university administration, academic staff, students’ family members, and invited guests.
Professor Irakli Natroshvili, Rector of TSMU congratulated the students and emphasized the University’s significant role in the development of medical education.
“Your path in medicine will not be an easy one. It will require great dedication, continuous learning, and the ability to overcome numerous challenges. However, remember that the white coat you wear today is a symbol of responsibility, humanism, and hope.
You are the future physicians—individuals who will bring hope to others. Future doctors bear a special responsibility before society, and Tbilisi State Medical University will do everything possible to ensure that you receive a high-quality education and professional support. I wish you success on this important journey,” stated Professor Irakli Natroshvili.
The students were also congratulated by Associate Professor Eka Ekaladze, Director of the American MD Program. As she noted: “The mission of TSMU is to educate physicians who combine high-level scientific knowledge with ethical integrity and patient-centered care. By choosing the American MD Program, you have made a thoughtful and deliberate decision. This choice entails significant responsibility—an unwavering commitment to the highest values of medicine. Throughout your academic journey, you will be supported by a strong, experienced, and dedicated academic and administrative team,” the Program Director stated in her address.
