Professor Irakli Natroshvili, Rector of Tbilisi State Medical University together with members of the University's academic staff, participated in the GIELRSA III International Conference held in Batumi. The event was organized by the Georgian Association of Interventional, Endoscopic, Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgery (GIELRSA) in partnership with the Georgian Radiation Safety Association.

The conference was attended by Nino Nizharadze, Minister of Health and Social Affairs of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara and Mari Zanakidze, the First Deputy Minister. Professor Irakli Natroshvili emphasized the importance of integrating innovative technologies into contemporary medical practice and highlighted the vital role of radiation safety in improving the quality of healthcare services and patient outcomes in his welcoming speech.

The conference brought together distinguished experts from Georgia and abroad in the fields of surgery, laparoscopic and robotic surgery, oncology, transplantation, endoscopy, intensive care, radiology, interventional radiology, and other medical disciplines. Participants discussed recent scientific advances, emerging clinical approaches and the implementation of innovative technologies in healthcare.

As part of the conference programme, a student scientific session was held, where TSMU students presented the results of their research. At the closing ceremony, the authors of the best student presentations, including several TSMU students, were recognized with honorary awards.
