Short-term Programs designed to enhance professional knowledge of emergency doctors and nurses have been held at TSMU Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Continuous Professional Development. The programs are accredited by the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labor, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia. The programs were developed according to the Resolution # 149, March 6, 2020, Government of Georgia. The resolution generally regulates functioning of the emergency unit and participation of all physicians in the continuing professional development system. The program was implemented by Professor Zaza Bokhua, Director of TSMU Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Continuous Professional Development, Professor Levan Ratiani, Director of the TSMU First University Clinic, Associate Professor Ketevan Matchavariani and Professors Ioseb Maisuradze and MD Gocha Abutidze.
The first phase trainings were held in July, 2020 at the TSMU First University Clinic. In September, 2020 Professors Ioseb Maisuradze and Gocha Abutidze supported by the heads of the Kutaisi Western Regional Center for Modern Medical Technologies held trainings for emergency physicians and nurses at the “Medicalcity” and “LJ Clinic”, Kutaisi.
