On September 21-24, 2024 Tbilisi State Medical University was visited by Professor Mauro Labanca, Consultant of the Medical School at the University of Brescia and Chancellor of the International Council of the International College of Dentists. 

Professor delivered a public lecture - 'Is the "Human Factor" the Main Cause of Complications in Dentistry?' attended by 8th, 9th, and 10th semester students of the Faculty of Dentistry and the International Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry of Tbilisi State Medical University. The public event was also attended by TSMU residents, academic staff, and young doctors. The lecture was interesting for the audience. The professor answered questions at the end of the event.

Professor Mauro Labanca attended the solemn event dedicated to the beginning of the 2024-2025 academic year at Tbilisi State Medical University as an honorary guest, where he addressed the students and wished them a successful academic year. On the same day, Professor Mauro Labanca met with first-semester students of the Faculty of Dentistry.

Professor Mauro Labanca met with Associate Professor Eka Ekaladze, Director of the US MD program and discussed the US MD program students’ successes. During the visit, Professor Mauro Labanca visited the Clinical Skills and Multidisciplinary Simulation Center of Tbilisi State Medical University. The guest positively assessed the center’s equipment, its well-structured syllabi, and the extensive experience in conducting objectively structured clinical exams. Professor Labanca also visited the 'Life Sciences Museum' at the Department of Molecular and Medical Genetics of TSMU.

Professor Mauro Labanca visited the Apolon Urushadze Dental Clinic of Tbilisi State Medical University where he was particularly interested in the Simulation Center of the Faculty of Dentistry and the preclinical (phantom) base. He also visited the Dental Clinic and the Unident Teaching and Research Center. During the visit, Professor Mauro Labanca, as the Chancellor of the International Council of the International College of Dentists and the future President of the European Section, was hosted by Professor Marina Mamaladze, the Regent of the 16th District of the European Section of the International College of Dentists and Head of the Department of Odontology of Tbilisi State Medical University.
